Coming Food Crises

Dude you’re in the bread basket. You’ll do fine.
If things get desperate you can eat all those extra ooooooooooooos

When a food crisis hits, more likely the remaining producers will produce high calorie foods rather than low calorie but otherwise nutrient rich foods. Not exactly a recipe for weight loss.

I'm glad I planted those Pringles plants last month!

Before the day is out, we will have put up over 130 jars of snap beans. Peas should start coming in, in about a week . I'm picking some squash, cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes, just not enough to can...hope the volume picks up.
Have been making mayhaw jelly, along with blackberry. Put up a few jars of strawberry preserves.
Corn should come in about last week of June and figs are looking like first part of July.
There's a food crisis?

Depends on what you plant. COVID did create a seed shortage, so maybe a food crisis would create a problem with seeds.
But most of what I plant is open pollinated, so if needed, I could save most of my seeds, except for sweet corn and another one or two.
