Bacterial. I’m negative for all the relevant viruses. I’m on broad spectrum IV antibiotics which are helping. I’ll probably be here for a couple of days.
Woke up a little after midnight with a fever of 102.5, using a thermometer on which my normal reading is 97.3.
Shit.
Any idea how long you'll be there?
Probably several days

Oh boy keep them lungs clear.

I recommend counting ad hominem attacks in lieu of sheep.

I assume you've had at least a couple of courses of antibiotics by now. How are you feeling?
Other than fever, any other sx?
SpO2 is OK, I assume?
Yeah. 96+. I’m feeling lethargic and the chest is a bit tight but my heart rate is stabilizing (it was 121 last night) and BP is back to normal (it was 96/58).

Heart rate is, of course, high. But, could be due to any number of reasons other than underlying disease. #1 on my list would be anxiety about what the FUCK is going on.
The BP is on the low-ish side - but that could be related to the elevated heart rate.
The important number is the SpO2. If you're not on supplemental oxygen, that's a very, very, good thing.

Shit, sorry to hear this Jon.
I hope you recover quickly.
