It is good to see the USA execute some sort of plan to develop the domestic semiconductor chip-making industry.

At the same time, it creates a bit of intellectual dissonance to see Conservatives now cheering for governments for subsidizing private businesses. 🙂

National security is a legitimate function of government, Ax. You need not try to establish some other tortured interpretation.

We've always had Micron. Garbage stock though.

@Mik said in I've driven through Taylor many times...:

National security is a legitimate function of government, ...

The article talks about a Samsung semiconductor fabrication plant. You want to argue that a Korean chip maker is essential for the USA's national security?

OK, kindly elaborate (when you have time) why a Korean chip maker is essential to American national security and/or why that's a good idea. I don't quite see it.

                  I'm sure you don't.

Hint: Korean has nothing to do with it.

Take your time, hopefully you will get around to sharing your thoughts on this matter clearly rather than beating around the bush with “hints.”

Hey Ax, is the Ford factory in Cologne an American factory or a German factory?

It's not really got much to do with national security, however there's absolutely nothing wrong with looking after American jobs.
