It is good to see the USA execute some sort of plan to develop the domestic semiconductor chip-making industry.
At the same time, it creates a bit of intellectual dissonance to see Conservatives now cheering for governments for subsidizing private businesses.

It's not really got much to do with national security, however there's absolutely nothing wrong with looking after American jobs.
