Defund the Police

I'm waiting for our leftward voices here to let us know whether the defunding of police should be a "legitimate concern", for those who would consider a defunded police force to be concerning. Just curious how we should calibrate our thresholds for legitimacy of concern.

Since all police are bastards it would be more of an illegitimate concern.
(Note: I don't actually think all police are bastards. It's a pun.)

Sort of. The problem in PDX is that as hard as the city tries, they cannot recruit sufficient numbers of new candidates.
It wouldn't be such a bad job, actually. City council hates you, most progressives hate you, street people hate you, your dog will hate you, wife runs away. But other than that. . . nice uniform, in a ninny sort of way. -
Did anybody else notice there weren’t any caucasians in the police free utopia?

In utopia...one of them wakes up to find a burglar (obviously white) in their house (obviously without a door or locks) taking all of their stuff (obviously quinoa and Birkenstock’s), so they decide to call the police (a chicken in the backyard they’ve named Mrs. Justice) and in no surprise to anyone, the chicken doesn’t help.
