Mrs. Biden included, it burns my tail to hear the term doctor thrown around so widely.

It's why I've always wanted to get a doctorate in something insane, like Phrenology or Ufology. The title doesn't mean anything if someone like that can call herself one.

Some time, during the last ⅓ of the last century, when I was in college, we never called our teachers "doctor." It was always "professor."

      Is this a recent shift?

In my time dealing with doctors professionally, it seems the shift has been that shitass doctors are getting bolder and more vocal about wanting to be called "doctor."

But hell, in Oz, they don't even do that. Not everyone who teaches at the collegiate level is a professor and they will correct the shit out of you if you make that mistake.

        Please love yourself.

Who let this idiot into medical school?

There are many sane people - who would make good doctors - who are denied, every year.

After graduating I practiced for 3 years in Marietta, Georgia while my boyfriend, Steven Ravnstag, finished chiropractic school. We planned on the traditional route of opening our own practice, but around 2014 our focus shifted. We began studying the mind. Through meditation, self-study, mentorship, and courses we discovered a realm of health that is greatly under appreciated: Self-Understanding."

I don’t believe so. It was fairly common for us to address professors, especially those whose birth and schooling were in Europe, by “Doctor. On the other hand, I cannot recall any instance when a “Doctor” corrected a student for addressing him or her as “Professor”. In any event, to address anyone who has earned a PhD as “Doctor” is a common and acceptable practice in this country.

            Elbows up!

i would not wish bad vibes on anyone, and i know this is all some weird form of schadenfreude but i wouldnt mind being the fly on the wall of a medical office when she gets told that little something on her ovary is not a cyst but a carcinoma, or that little black dot on her back is melanoma. somehow i dont believe she will accept her own bullshit remedies for herself.

sure there are idiots who shun medical care for naturopathic remedies, but not the ones selling snake oil, they usually know they are conning people.
