How does the internet still suck?
-
Specifically browsing the web. Yes, ad-blockers can help, but in general I find these far too common on websites of all sorts (news, fitness apps, tech reviews, etc).
- The accept-all-cookies pop-up
- The subscribe to newsletter email entry pop-up
- Automatic video players, not sure where the sound is coming from
- Embedded ads everywhere
- Clickbait/local ads at the bottom "His ex found his phone, what she did next will surprise you!"
I can't tell you how fast I go into "Reader mode" at least for most text/article pages I'm on, if I have the option.

I don't mind the greed, it's the unbearable user experience. Reminds me of the internet in the early 2000's with pop-up ads etc. Now when I want to read a simple article, there are good odds I have to dodge a cookies pop-up, subscription pop-up, and an ad-blocker pop-up (if it doesn't like my ad blocker).

What really annoys me about those ads is that they almost always feature a very generously proportioned young lady, and yet, when you scroll down the increasingly banal list of things that happened to various people you don't care about, she is NOWHERE to be found.

I bet you really searched hard, too!
