That's what I'm saying. It won't come as a shock because for me there's going to be no transition. All I'm doing is swapping Coldstone for whatever she'll be into. It's going to be just as weird and foreign.

The funniest conversations I've had were being "educated" by a 16 year old about how great the classic video games were, and how I really don't understand how shallow modern games are by comparison.
He'll be telling me about the benefits of vinyl soon, I imagine.

I misspoke and got a character name wrong in Encanto. My daughter didn't even stop watching, she just said "No, dad, Mirabelle." She's 3.
I looked at her and said, "hyarrr! It begins!"

I get that on a regular basis from a 15 yr. old who has never heard vinyl but knows that there is a Rega Planar 3 turntable packed away in storage downstairs. I should just sell the damn thing.

@Doctor-Phibes I like it just fine. I suck at it though. I just got my first X-Box style game controller and find it much easier to play using it vs the keyboard. Especially when driving.
I pretty much suck at most of the new RPGs because I just get bored with them so fast. I might play for 20 minutes at a time if that.
Racing sims on the other hand...

I'm envious of your racing sims - I used to play a lot back in the late 90's and early 2000's. It was Grand Prix Legends back then, which was ridiculously difficult but very satisfying if you got it right. My current desk setup doesn't really work for a wheel. I'm going to change things around if and when we move house and hopefully get a bit more space for the essential things in life.

This morning on reddit I saw references to Elden Ring as well as Roblox. Yes I've heard of each before, but I realized I have ZERO idea what those are, other than video game(s) of some sort? I feel like I'm out of it, but also don't really mind.

Two ends of the gaming spectrum right now.
Elden ring is the horror-based "it" game this year - only available on high-end consoles and PCs.
Roblox is a creativity-based sandbox game for kids. You can run it on a potato and the user-base of (very) young kids is huge.
