The Cardiac Issue

@mark You can get an explosive response here by just barely mentioning the regular flu
Not just a regular TDS response, but a real explosion from several people
I don't get it, the numbers speak for themselves, the tens of thousands killed by the regular flu will be a distant memory soon enough, but for now their lives are just as valuable

- There's a vaccine for flu. That greatly reduces the number of cases.
- The death rate from the flu was 48 per 100,000 in 1950. In 2017, it was 14 per 100,000. It's going down quite a bit.
- The population death rate for COVID-19 (not the CFR) in New York City, right now, is 35 per 100,000. And that's only with about 1% of the city's population having known cases.
- The 1% infection rate in New York has led to mass ventilator shortages, hospital staff dying, and refrigerated trucks parked outside of hospitals to haul the dead away.
