    @Mik said in Bacon...:

    I like it in the oven. You can make more at one time.

    6 slices in the microwave is no problem;

    Give it about 4 minutes and add time appropriately.

      Other methods might give you results that are a bit better, but not to my taste.

      The question is, how much hassle do you want to go through to get "just a bit" better taste?

      In my case, none.

          @Aqua-Letifer you're going to spend, probably 100% more for speakers that sound about 5% better....

              For taste, texture and ability to have everything get done at once - oven.

                90% of the time we use the microwave. Fast, easy, clean, and yes the bacon gets crispy. The oven is better (let's the bacon soak in its own fat) but takes longer to cook and clean up.

                The best piece of bacon I ever had was at the Streamsong golf resort in Florida. It was a good 1/4" thick... hot damn that was an amazing piece of bacon.

                  The place where they make the bacon is maybe a 5 minutes drive from here. The whole town is dedicated to the pigs.

                  Statues like this are all over town. You can buy a cement pig statue to put in your flower beds.

                        George, you just finally convinced me to get rid of my microwave. We hardly ever use it for anything. About the only thing we use it for these days is to quickly heat berries that are then mashed into a pancake topping for Finley. But to think that someday we may be tempted to use it to make quick bacon? Brrr.... Better to get rid of it now before the temptation to try it even occurs.

                        I mean, there's no work once its in the oven, and having the smell of it cooking is the best part...

                          Other than the cleanup, and the time to cook.

                                  When I've made it in the oven, I've put it on a baking rack. It's difficult to get off, and the rack is a PITA to clean with all the cooked-on stuff.

                                    I put it on a half sheet rack and cook a pound at a time. I rub the rack with oil so it is never too tough to clean.

                                    There's a Shark Tank product called the Scrub Daddy that I can no longer live without. Does a great job and lasts forever. If it gets dirty just stick it in the dishwasher. Pay no mind to the kitschy smile.

                                      I just use an oven-safe pan. It's the grooved kind that collects the grease. Not too bad to clean if you catch it fairly early.

                                      I don't use the oven all the time—usually I just cook it on the range.

                                      The microwave I only use to thaw out or reheat. I think they're total crap for cooking, but, YGASMV.

                                      Please love yourself.

                                        Microwave is fine for vegetables, eggs, etc. Other than that, just reheating.

                                          @Mik ...eggs? Really?

                                          The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
