I really don't understand Apple's obsession with "thin."

My current phone, and iPhone 13, is absolutely fine and works very well. But, in terms of design, I just don't get it.

Although it's very "thin," the "camera bump" is obnoxious. It breaks the style of the phone with a distracting and totally un-aesthetic "bump" to surround the camera.

Just make the whole damn phone the same thickness. Maybe that'll give you more room for a bigger battery?

    Ya think?

Imagine what an additional 3.5 mm of thickness could add in terms of storage, battery, whatever?

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

I agree George. The thiness of the phones make them somewhat uncomfortable to hold.

Steve Jobs was adamant that the phone should be a "one-hand" device, and the original iPhone was that.

Today's phones are not that, by any means.

But, returning to the "bump", I think none of my phones had that until the iPhone 8. Since then, it's gotten bigger and bigger.

          The minis are.

Battery lasts 1.3 days, too, with heavy use.

          Please love yourself.

Jobs would never have allowed the camera bump. I wish the current iPhone (10 through 13 or whatever) was just a tad smaller. Somewhere between the 13 and the mini... like what the iPhone 6 was, I think?

Can you imagine the flame-spewing, obscenity-laden tirade that Jobs would have unleashed at any designer who came up with this idea? Probably would have been fired on the spot.

I understand the need for a "thicker" camera. But, ffs, integrate it into the thickness of the whole phone and gimme a bigger battery!
