    https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/03/17/republicans-ukraine-aid-vote/

More than two dozen Senate Republicans are demanding that President Biden do more to aid war-torn Ukraine and arm its forces against Russia’s brutal assault, after voting last week against $13.6 billion in military and humanitarian assistance for Ukraine. …

As @Jolly is fond of saying, “don’t listen to what they say, look at what they do.”

A bunch of examples in the article showing specific instances of Republican legislators spouting rhetorics about supporting Ukraine but then vote against actually supporting Ukraine anyway.

@Axtremus Leader McConnell wanted a stand-alone bill to fund Ukrainian assistance, not part of the "omnibus" bill.

Didn't make it to the floor, from what I understand.

      https://www.cbsnews.com/news/ukraine-mitch-mcconnell-republicans-face-the-nation/

McConnell said if he were majority leader, he would have brought the supplemental funding for Ukraine to the floor as a standalone bill and predicted "virtually every one of my members would've voted for it." Thirty-one Republican senators voted against the spending package that included the aid.

In other words, we're not going to give you carte blanche spending riding on the coattails of public sentiment.

Democrats: " we should support ukraine financially"
Republicans "we should support Ukraine financially"

          Both "let's vote on it"

Republicans : " we vote to spend x million dollars to support ukraine"

Democrats:" we vote to spend x million dollars to support ukraine, but to get it Congress must also spend another x billion on climate change, another x million to study the sex habits of squirrels, x million for windmills, x million for solar panels..."

Republicans: "no. We will not vote for that. Stick to giving aid to ukraine"

Idiots like Ax: " see, proof republicans won't support ukraine"

I honestly can't figure out if being stupid is a requirement to be a democrat, or if being a democrat makes you stupid.

            You misspelled "trillions."

Highly unlikely he would have done that. He would have seized the opportunity to get some other priorities thrown in just like Schumer did.

                  No doubt.

Here's some of the other things those senators voted against:

                  • $1.6 million for the "development of equitable growth of shellfish aquaculture in Rhode Island."
                  • $3 million for a Gandhi museum in Houston
                  • $3 million for the Palo Alto History Museum
                  • $800,000 for "artist lofts" in Pomona, California

Supposedly Rick Scott pushed for a separate bill just limited to Ukraine.
