Yes, the risk is high that Putin will deploy one or more tactical nukes. Tomorrow’s annexation of Ukrainian territory will provide the convenient rationale.
The US and NATO will respond accordingly should a Russian nuclear demonstration occur. The Cold War doctrine of Flexible Response will determine the actions of the Alliance.

There's been a fair amount of reporting of Russian casualties - KIA, wounded and others.
I haven't seen much about Ukrainian losses lately. Last time I saw anything, there was supposedly a 1:3 ratio between the two forces.

Supposedly the Russian troops in Lyman want to withdraw, because they're surrounded, but the word from the top is "Nyet." There's 5000 of them.
