Wife and dogs. Then wait outside until the prime dry aged steaks in the freezer are a perfect medium rare, and rescue them for distribution to the fire fighters.

    Education is extremely important.

It takes nothing to do it daily and would be a godsend if things get dicey. The possibilities of cyber warfare worry me much more than a pandemic.

Fair enough. I'll probably stick to stocking up on potable water because quite frankly we have an assload of water nearby if needed.

Then again, I'm also within a D.C. blast radius so we're kinda fucked anyway.

Nah, you’re well outside the radius of a Hiroshima type blast… https://www.businessinsider.com/how-nuclear-attack-would-destroy-us-cities-2019-12

They have much, much, much bigger bombs.

Even a 1.2 Megaton bomb has a radius of 7 miles. Yes, there are larger bombs, but they aren’t really practical.

When I lived in Northern Virginia I did a quick check (a few years ago) of what I would do. I found the (relatively) best place in the basement to go, but also felt better that the wind would take the fallout north and east... oops, sorry Aqua if that sends it your way.

So you would be perfectly positioned to collect the fallout from Mount Weather.

      Just kiss it goodbye.

Depends how big the gas tank is, really. What was the cost per gallon?

The cheapest (Costco/Sam's) is $3.74 but most normal stations are starting to go above 4 bucks. Also, I have found the Sam's gas line to be a little shorter than Costco.

Seriously though, I hate GoFundMe as it makes too high a percentage and I've seen it misused badly. MFR asked me to set it up as she was in Indy moving her mom to memory care when the fire happened. I'd rather have sharp pencils stuck in my ears than go on the internet begging for money.

Despite my reservations and animosity, it has turned out well in ways I did not foresee. The kid was really down on himself for not having renters' insurance. By the end of the first night all the outpouring of concern and donations, he said he felt like he was living It's a Wonderful Life. I guess something good can come out of it greater than the money.
