I will however comment on the very last video, the one where the protester insisted on getting a coffee and refused to vacate the restricted area when ordered. He is a twat.
On first viewing, I was unsure if it was a restricted area, I'll take your word for it.
Hitting people and knocking people's phones out of their hands (while improperly masked, I might add) is justice for being a twat?
Watch the video again. The cop tells the person to vacate the “red zone” or he would be arrested. The twat starts to argue and then it’s goodnight Vienna. If a cop tells me I am in a Red Zone and must leave I comply. I along with every Canadian knows what a Red Zone is and means. I assume Americans do as well. The twat knew he was in the red zone and started to argue.
So yes he deserved to have his device knocked out his hand and yes, he earned an attitude adjustment smack from the cop who gave ample warning to vacate the area immediately or face arrest.
When (typically) black men are killed by American policemen, people frequently say 'If only they'd do what the cop told them, this sort of terrible thing wouldn't happen'.
I know, this is completely different. She wasn't committing a crime. Also, he didn't shoot her.

I see you've bought into that old false narrative hook, line, and sinker...

Glad you pointed out that the person was female. I missed that when I first saw the video.
I’m sorry then that I called her a twat. Even I don’t think that it is at all appropriate call a woman such. Rather, given her attitude and demonstrated sense of entitlement towards lawful authority, I ought to have called her a “princess” or, at the very worst, a “stupid cow”.

TBH, I wasn't sure whether it was a woman with a deep voice or a bloke with a whiny voice.

Is it also (typically) black men who intentionally goad police into a violent confrontation? Or is saying that racist, while saying what you said, virtuous?

I'm not saying anything remotely virtuous. I'm just pointing out that getting all riled up about this woman being told to be on her way whilst condemning similar if somewhat more extreme behaviour in others is a little inconsistent.
Either it's a good idea to do what the cops tell us, or it isn't.

The recitation of the "cops kill black people" narrative is virtuous, you know that. You appear entirely uninterested in learning why that narrative and its connotations are fictitious and destructive to the communities it purports to empathize with.

I think George was unaware it was a 'red zone' which makes this a simple mistake rather than an ideological inconsistency.
-
But, entry into a so-called 'red zone' justifies physical assault from the cop?
Given the princess’ attitude and the circumstances, yes and in fact her video indicates she earned it.
She knew where she was and deliberately provoked the cops.
Now, about the other videos...are they fake?
See my initial response.

OK, I understand your viewpoint, though I don't agree. The woman (yeah, she was obnoxious) displayed no violence toward the police, and yet she was assaulted. The police officer struck her, knocking her phone/camera to the ground after she did nothing other than enter an area that he said she should not, and took videos. She never touched the cop, afaict.
She knew where she was and deliberately provoked the cops.
See my response above. Yeah, she probably did know where she was. Verbal provocation is a cause for physical assault? All she did is try to enter a so-called "red zone." That's a provocation? Shooting a video (which is the FIRST thing the inappropriately-masked cop said) is a provocation?
Perhaps in Canada, but not here. Taking a video of a police officer has been ruled a totally appropriate thing for a citizen to do.
Now, about the other videos...are they fake?
See my initial response.
OK, you don't care. Got it.

I actually wasn't digging at George. For one thing, he isn't typically one of the people that says 'if only these people did what they were told...'. I was pointing out that a large number of people do say that, and they share a large cross-section with the ones who are now shouting 'Fascist!' at the Canadian police.
All I did was point out the double standard.
-
My thoughts, distilled:
-
Do the truckers (or any group) have an absolute right to protest?
Yes. -
Do the truckers (or any group) have a right to interfere with the movement (blocking of streets) and peaceful lives of citizens (honk)?
No. -
Do the police have the authority to remove those who interfere with #2?
Yes. -
Do the police have there authority to use physical violence in trying to enact #3?
Only when violence is exacted upon them. -
What is "violence" in #4?
Touching, pushing, hitting. Not words. Actual physical contact. The response of the police should be proportionate to the actions of the person upon which said response is enacted. Kicking a downed protestor, hitting one with the butt of their rifle, and striking an offender who did nothing more than enter a so-called "prohibited area" and question the police is not proportionate.

In all fairness @George-K , in about 2-3 days a group inspired by this group will be shutting down my work. They will impact my ability to provide for my family. While I generally support their cause, if it goes on for as long as the Ottawa protest goes on, I will be fully supportive of the police stomping their asses to get the roads moving again…
I support their rights to protest up and until it affects my right to take care of my family.

See #2 & #3 above.
I said it about ANTIFA in Portland, and I stand by my stance.
(can I say that?)
