Unfortunately, this kind of thing is my preferred brand of internet crack. Guy goes way out of his way, at least twice, to prove flat earthers wrong knowing full well how futile that is, just because he decided to weigh in on an unwinnable internet fight for the entertainment value. And along the way you actually get to talk about the science of planetary bodies and the sociology behind internet nuttery. Also a QAnon deep dive because why not.

As internet crack goes, this is pure, uncut moonrock.

You also get to see the curvature of the earth in real time, which is pretty damn great. (Fast forward to 10:10 just to see that part.)

Renauda might live close to this lake, so if he's got a telephoto lens handy, this might be something he'd like to confirm for us. 😄 (Also, man, what a place to visit.)

    Please love yourself.

Lake Minnewanka is a one drive hour west of Calgary in Banff National Park. Been there many times. In 1989 I went with four people on a three day trail ride on horseback along the northern shore of the lake. Pristine and wild.

Nowadays we usually camp at a smaller lake nearby for a few days each summer. Great place for lake kayaking and canoeing. Pine forest and clean air. At night the wolves howl you to sleep in the tent. It can get a bit cool so you have to come prepared for weather.

      Elbows up!

btw, if you really have some time to kill, watch the movie.."Behind the curve" which is a doco on flat earthers. i am so perplexed at how some people actually consider this notion. i dont mean wacko bizzaros who should be maybe confined to mental institutions. i mean what seem like overtly rational people accepting this, and the cognitive dissonance and twists and turns people do when confronted by evidence to the contrary. human mind is really weird.

i especially like the ones who say....well, i really dont know one way or the other but im open to all suggestions in the name of "investigative science"....

          just amazing.

but anyway, yea, minnewanka is a nice place., renauda is lucky to live so close to banff and that area of the canadian rockies.
