Actually, it might be kind'a fun to watch this happen.

The population decline in California would mean there will be a lot of empty houses/apartments to house all those homeless people.

I could see an argument for mandating government employees, but not private company employees. Further, we’re at a point now with a certain level of natural immunity (from infection), vax rates, etc… that I think we can calm down a bit on these types of measures. In addition, maybe requiring, if at all, for those 60+?

If the Feds had any foresight, they could have solved the social security solvency dilemma by telling 60+'ers they didn't need a vax.

Well, the legislator filing the bill, does say she desires a return to "normalcy". I assume her definition of "normalcy" is somewhat akin to "bat-shit crazy".

Just curious, those who are generally against requiring a vaccine, do you consider yourself pretty "liberatarian"?

Should people be allowed to smoke in all public places? (restaurants, etc.)
            Should seat belts be optional?
            Motorcycle helmets optional?
Vaccines for school kids to go to public school?
Vaccines for armed service people? (not only COVID but things such as Adenovirus
            Hepatitis A
            Hepatitis B
            Influenza
            Measles, mumps, rubella
            Meningococcal
            Poliovirus
            Tetanus-Diphtheria
            Varicella)

Interesting article from 2014 about resistance to vaccines, focusing on the polio vaccine.

The entire basis of your points is the effectiveness of the mRNA vaccines in preventing spread. As the vaccines have been shown to be not as effective as advertised in prevention, most of your questions become meaningless.

I think you are right. When initial studies were done, it was believed that the vaccine prevented spread. Now we know that is not true. But it does prevent serious sickness and hospital.

(Yes, I know this is not 100% true. Some people with vaccine do get quite sick, but nothing is ever 100%).

                  Science changes.

How sick do people become, when infected with Omicron?

For a significant percentage, not very, which is why I think Omicron is underreported.

I know two people who were unvacc'd, and died from Omicron - I didn't know of them personally, friends of friends. Pretty much everybody I know who is vaccinated, and there are a lot of them, had at worst a really bad cold.

There are about 2400 people a day, who die with Omicron. And yes, I still think it is far milder than Delta and underreported.

                          I'm sure it's under-reported. I'm moderately sure I had it, and I didn't report it as I couldn't get tested. I just self-isolated.

again, im a bit clueless about how things work everywhere, but what does that mean "couldnt get tested". cant you just buy a rapid antigen test for a few bucks and see for yourself?

here antigen tests are everywhere, given out for free in schools, and available in almost every work place. and even with that, i would say real omicron numbers are probably twice the reported amount.

At the point when my daughter tested positive, there was zero availability for tests conducted at pharmacies and clinics, and all the kits were completely sold out. Since I was borderline asymptomatic, vacc'd and boostered I decided not to worry about it and just isolated.
