Just got my natural gas bill.
1/24/22: 83.86 therms at $0.726 - $60.91
1/24/21: 115.75 therms at $0.415 - $48.03
The price of natural gas is close to double.

Our gas bill is really high as well, but I haven't been here long enough to compare it to last year. I'd imagine it's the same increase you're seeing.

Yeah, but global warming reduced how much you needed to use by 1/3! Climate change is mitigating Carbon Emissions!

Is that inclusive of all delivery fees, levies, taxes and other administrative add-ons over and above the actual cost of gas that show up on you monthly bill?

$153 this Jan vs. $125 last year (the wusses in my house like it real warm). I used a bit less this year too.

@renauda no. That’s just the fuel.
I received our bill last week for Dec 16 - January 18.
Dec 16 - 31: 13.45 gigajoles (GJ) @ $4.936 / GJ = $66.39
Dec 31 - Jan 18: 12.99 GJ @ $3.893 / GJ = $50.57
Total energy billing before taxes and fees = $116.96
1 GJ = 9.48 Therms
We had winter temperatures from December 16 to January 2 ranging anywhere from -40 C at night to -25 C or colder during the day. I heat a two storey 2700 sq ft house with triple glazed argon filled windows, 2x6 outer walls with a finished and insulated basement with 2 high efficiency furnaces. The house is pretty energy efficient compared to most others of its age.
With all the extraneous and variable taxes, levies and add-on charges that accompany my monthly bill total for the above gas was $328.03. It’s all the taxes and variable rate add-ons!
Normally in winter I pay monthly not in excess of $120.00 inclusive of all taxes and add-ons.

NatGas was $236.00
Electric was $376.00Should be the highest month of the year.
It's still half of our record high bill about 23 years ago, that was $1,200 for one month.

5 or 6 years ago I got a utility bill that had 3900 dollars charge for water and sewer. I disputed the bill, and they said they would take the charge off. The next month I got a bill that showed the 3900 dollar water and sewage charge as delinquent, with late charges, and another charge for water and sewer for 3200 dollars. I disputed the bill, they assured me they would take it off my bill. The next month my bill showed 3900 dollars for water and sewer 60 days late, 3200 dollars 30 days late, late charges, and another charge of 3500 dollars for water and sewer. There was a stern warning written telling me if I didn't pay the nearly 12,000 dollars within 30 days I risked having my water cut off......
I called them and told them I wanted someone to come out that very day and cut my water off. The guy was there within a couple of hours to cut off my water. We both had a good laugh, then he told me not to worry, he would get it straightened out. Then he called the utility company and asked them the procedure for turning off a well and a septic system.....

@aqua-letifer said in Gas Bill:
Oh yeah, those are everywhere.
I know, but I've never seen one, especially in Cook County.
