Trump threatens to move convention if NC restricts capacity

If Trump wants to move the Republican National Convention, let him move it.
Same if he wants to have "traditional megarallies" with huge number of supporters tightly gathered in one place. There are so many states with no formal social distancing restrictions, many of them in firm Republican control, that will let Trump hold whatever rallies he wants to hold.

Voter turnout might be a bit low come November.

Let’s hope either biology or science saves us soon. Leadership sure isn’t going to.

The good news for NC is after the convention you may not see a spike in the state since everyone will go back to their own states.

Or not.
My point was that if 20,000 republicans get together in a big rally, there might be quite a few less republicans available to vote in November.
This isn't about politics.

Let’s all hope for a big dose of seasonality.

My prediction is that Trump will not have the balls to actually move the convention, or to actually have a traditional convention with large number of people packed in one place. Trump will continue to complain and blame-shift and that will be that.

This is what new cases look like in NC. They reopened Friday.
Can this be explained by more testing?
Most data I see is every other day load. Would helpful to smooth that fact out.

Exactly why would that require balls?
You really do enjoy having your head up your ass, don't you...

I don't have a prediction.
I can't see NC giving him a guarantee. How could they? They could give some carefully worded 'if-things-go-as-we-expect' or something, leaving themselves an out. But will he move it based on that?
Not sure if he wants to move it anyway, or if he'd ultimately accept a partial audience as long as he could blame the NC governor. We'll see soon enough.

I assume if all the delegates get sick they will deny it.
I would.

Seems like the move from NC is inevitable. (Not that I think it matters much, really)

Cynical me wonders if Trump will find a venue near a Trump property to house the delegates.

We had a massive company shindig in Boca, close to Mar a Lago. It was great fun, however I'm not sure what the locals have done to deserve the GOP convention.
