Really sorry to hear about that. It's all about the comorbidities. Mostly, anyway.

Oh, man. Sorry to hear. Let's hope she turns around.

Thank you all for the thoughts and sentiments. We have a bit more information and it’s sounding like it’s more of a “with COVID” rather than “From COVID” situation.

She had severe Kidney problems a few years ago and it sounds like her Kidneys are shutting down. She’s currently sedated and on a ventilator, which (based on what I’ve learned around here) is most definitely not good…

That's very rough news for you and your family. Glad you are there for Karla. You're a good husband, and she needs that so much right now.

Still on vent but stable. Turns out to have been a real clusterfuck of bad information from the hospital. They had told her nephew (Karla’s brother) and her ex-husband (still close friends)?that there was no COVID, just Kidney failure, when I spoke with the nephew yesterday I said that makes no sense, they wouldn’t vent her for kidney failure unless her respiratory system was already shutting down… So he asked and it turns out she DOES have COVID and her Kidneys are shutting down.

I don’t expect this to have a good outcome, don’t vents severely mess up your kidneys?
