From the season 4 premiere of "Yellowstone"...the best line.

Member of the Dutton family (Beth) is sitting in a bar because she's in a bad mood. Asshole husband walks in with his naive wife who wants to go to the bathroom.

    (Paraphrasing)

"No, I'll go first," he says. "Order me a beer." And goes to the bathroom, leaving his wife at the bar.

Beth says to the wife, "You need some perspective on power."

    "What do you mean?"

"Your husband is an asshole," she says.

    And then....

"Never forget that you have ALL of the pussy and half of the money."

We missed episode 2 of this season. I really don’t get that it is on the network but not the streaming service.

It's fun. Think "Dallas" and "Dynasty."

But the people aren't as nice.

Lots of cowboy horse pr0n too.

Also lotsa girls in tight jeans.

None of my comments should be considered criticisms.

I haven’t read any of these posts to avoid spoilers (and will not read open this thread again) but I’m half way through Season 3. Will follow back here when I’m caught up!

                F'ing Sam Elliott:

Elliott said, "I’m not a Yellowstone fan. I don’t watch Yellowstone... I love Costner. There’s a lot of good people on the cast, a few of them I’ve worked with before—nothing against any of them—but it’s just too much like fucking Dallas or something for me." Dallas, of course, was the massively successful 80s soap opera that ran for a staggering 14 seasons. Comparisons between the two have been numerous, be it for both series' large audiences or the penchant to lean into the melodrama.

Elliott's 1883 serves as a prequel to Yellowstone, telling the origin story about how the Dutton family settled in Montana. The 10-episode limited series can be watched alone, though it does contain Easter eggs for Yellowstone viewers. Elliott seems none too happy that the prequel came after the original. The actor told Taste of Country that Yellowstone "tainted" the series and that he "can't stand" the comparisons between the two despite, again, 1883 being a prequel series led by the same creative team. (In Elliott's defense, I speak about my brother the same way.)

Elliott also told Taste of Country that he passed on a role in Yellowstone, so clearly the guy is very serious about his distaste. As for what is a legitimate Western, we can assume that the genre is defined only and exactly by Elliott's IMDb.

I finally finished the series (or rather, finished the latest season). Really enjoy scenes with Rip and/or Beth in it. Strike that... Beth is the best character.

Yellowstone ending after season 5 with McConaughey in talks to star in sequel

Kevin Costner won’t get the chance to leave Yellowstone because the series is coming to an end instead. Shortly after reports that Costner had quit the series, Paramount announced that the series will end after its fifth season, the one that would have been Costner’s last. But nothing can stop the Dutton family’s ranching empire, so Paramount also announced a sequel series with Matthew McConaughey in talks to star.

The first half of Yellowstone’s fifth season, dubbed part 1, has already been released, but part 2 is where the series ran into trouble. The second part of the season hasn’t finished filming yet, due in part to a reported feud between Costner and series co-creator Taylor Sheridan. This may be a blessing in disguise for Sheridan and Paramount, who can now use the back half of the season to pivot the show toward its finale and set up for the sequel.

Paramount hasn’t announced yet what Yellowstone’s sequel series will actually be about.

“The Dutton story continues, picking up where Yellowstone leaves off in another epic tale. We are thrilled to bring this new journey to audiences around the world,” David Glasser, CEO of 101 Studios (the production studio behind the show), said in a news release.

According to a report from Deadline, sequel plans are still in flux, including whether or not the follow-up series will bring back the main cast of the original — minus Costner, of course — and if so, which ones. Also not nailed down is if McConaughey will actually star in the new series, though Deadline reports that he’s been in talks with Paramount since February and those talks are still in progress.

It’s time to wrap it up. Got rather ridiculous in the first half.
