Most voters recognized Trump was bad for the country and the world and a foul human being on top of it all. They only needed a non-scary alternative and would take it. Biden was perceived as that. It really is that simple.
Anybody who isn't willing to admit how destructive the righteous TDS that overcame the culture was, has no standing to claim a principled stance against things that are bad for the country and the world.
If it comes down to something simple, it is an unwillingness or even an inability to hold one's nose and live through a circumstance one finds repulsive, without throwing a temper tantrum. This is why I've called TDS sufferers 'dainty little princesses', because that describes perfectly well the psyches of such people, when the chips are down and they have to suffer the results of an election that didn't go their way.
You throw the 'TDS' label around as much as any Woke progressive does the 'R' word. And it has the same dilutive effect on the meaning, at least to the people who aren't True Believers.
You arenβt in your right mind when it comes to Trump, nor when it comes to the concept of TDS, considering the fact you donβt think you suffer from it, and, as far as Iβm aware, have never even admitted it exists as a thing worth talking about.
Where is the line between "not agreeing with Trump's policies" and "not considering Trump a decent human begin" and TDS?
It's rather cheap to dismiss everyone who disagrees with you as suffering from some kind of syndrome.
But I don't do that. For instance, let's consider January 6. Let's consider those who think of it as an insurrection. I mean, don't listen to me, listen to them. What do they call it? Do they imagine a mastermind of a coup attempt, manipulating useful idiot soldiers? Just ask them, that is all I ask. What do they say, on the off chance they are willing to say anything?
They won't say anything, they will only relentlessly call people Trumpists and Insurrectionists. Then they will retreat to their objective place where they have no political skin in the game.

There is TDS on both sides for sure.
For the Democrats, anything that President Trump did or does is immediately wrong. He could develop a cure for cancer, feed the starving children and shelter all homeless dogs, and the Democrats would find fault with it. If the Democrats were the ones who did the above however, well then, they would break their arm by hitting themself on the back.
For the Republicans, TDS is Trump Deification Syndrome. There is a fair percent of people who worship at the altar of President Trump. You have to be with President Trump 100% of the time. If you are any small percent below that (for example, only with him 99.5% of the time), that actually means you are against him and need to be banned and shunned. It is kind of turning into a cult of personality, which never ends well (see numerous examples).

Bull shit. Pure bull shit.

It is standard practice, as reliable as the sun coming up in the morning.... a lefty will totally ignore any attempt at pointing out a fault on their side of the aisle. Only when it becomes so obvious they can't deny it will they finally admit it, but when they admit it they always- ALWAYS - make the claim that both sides did the same thing.
There is no such thing as Trump Deification Syndrome. NONE. But the claim that it exists makes it easier for a lefty to admit they are in fact, crazy.

@taiwan_girl Good reply, overall you are accurate although a bit dramatic on both sides.
I think a more accurate accounting is nearly everyone is in the middle of the bell curve. Sane, nice... would help you change your tire, or open the door for you, and probably doesn't want to talk politics or even care. But those in the media (news corporations as well as those who are covered by the news) make it seem like everyone is on the far left or far right.
Here's what I think it really looks like. All rights reserved.
