Down here, there were a disproportionate number of blacks dying. That can be explained by:
- More blacks in urban centers. Higher population density.
- Higher BMI's than caucasians as a general rule.
- Less numbers vaccinated.
None of that has to do with mortality being worse in equally healthy individuals.

I think there could be a bit more to it than that. There are still conflicting reports on the effect of Vitamin D deficiency, and with as much as this disease effects your vascular system, the higher prevalence of diabetes definitely has an effect.
