Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

And we wonder why there's so much gun violence.

I really dont understand why there is so much. Is it cultural (whether in the black or white or spanish communities)? Access to guns? Breakdown of family?

I promise you, there are more guns than people in the community where I live. We've had one murder by firearm in the last thirty years.

Guns don't kill people. People kill people.

@jolly I get that, but I also think of the statement by President Reagan

"We dont arm ourselves because we fear each other. We fear each other because we arm ourselves"

You know, I don't think I know that one. Context, please.

                  Yes, that doesn't sound right.

If he did say something like that, maybe it was meant on a global scale, armed countries rather than armed individuals.

I think what you're talking about is Reagan's speech at the Brandenburg Gate:

"But we must remember a crucial fact: East and West do not mistrust each other because we are armed; we are armed because we mistrust each other. And our differences are not about weapons but about liberty."

"Now look here, you Baltic gas passer... " - Mik, 6/14/08

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

IOW, not an actual quote, but a stretch of a paraphrase, applied to two widely different situations.

“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”
