But hey, there’s not panhandlers out there hustling people… I’ve heard that’s a conservative myth.

I've seen these folks too. The last one I saw seemed to be playing for real, but who really knows. It's a shame the scammers have ruined it for those who really play. Either way, I don't really mind the extra music in the otherwise cold and heartless parking lot.

I was on the way home from downtown on Friday, and I exited the "express"way. There's a panhandler on the off-ramp, waiting for all the cars to stop at a light. He was holding a sign that said something like "Homeless vet! I have 3 kids and rent to pay! Please Help!"

As he approached my car, I ignored him. He stopped at my car, and held the sign AGAINST MY WINDSHIELD. I continued to ignore, but damn, it made me feel uncomfortable.

@george-k Yeah touching the vehicle (let alone standing next to you) is very inappropriate.

Yeah, we have these 'musicians' here. They are 'playing' at a level which would preclude them being unemployed.

I used to play in the street from time to time. Nobody ever accused me of miming to a really good player
