That does it...

I've mentioned before that about once a month I go to a local grocery store and watch people going through the checkout lines, and pick people to anonymously pay for their groceries. The people never see me, but of course, I can see them.
Usual responses people have to learning that their groceries have been paid for are to say thank you a lot, cry, or just smile. But always gracious. Not this year. Oh, some responded normally. But a few responded more in line with the entitled, selfish, narcissistic asshats that are increasing in numbers. So, I have done it for the last time. I am NOT going to spend my money on ungrateful turds like I saw this month..
One exampke: one woman goes through the line with 5 kids in tow. Her bill came to just over 200 bucks. When the cashier put her receipt in the cash drawer and told her that her bill had been paid, instead of saying so much as thank you, she told her kids to stand there and hold the line while she got another grocery cart and headed for the meat department. When she came back with a buggy full of meat and found that her kids and her paid for groceries had been moved so the line could keep moving, she pitched a fit. She DEMANDED that her cart full of meat be paid for as well, and when she was told she would have to pay for it herself, she pulled a Karen, threatened the cashier, the store manager, and demanded to whoever it was that paid for her first cart full of groceries "show his cowardly face" and pay for the cart full of meat.
Rather than do what I wanted to do, which was to go slap the living shit out of her, I waited until the police had hauled her away, then I got in my car and went home.
The human race is doomed.

There are all kinds out there, but several douchebags does not a fallen society make. Gotta learn how to grieve humanity.

Been thinking about this one. The thing that makes this particularly depressing is that when this kind of behavior happens - it means that the people who get screwed are the folks who still honestly have need. The erosion of trust...
No question on that.

Damn. I almost feel sorry for that person. Imagine living in her mind. shudder...

Note that her 3 self-declared reasons were:
- She is lazy.
- She thinks "the patriarchy" is influenced by her person hygiene.
- She cares what you think about her.
I have really come to value authentic people in my life, btw. Aqua is probably the most authentic, btw.

Nah I'm just lazy.
I don't have it in me to constantly maintain some social bullshit; not when I can't even remember half of what I say anyway.

I don't shave my armpits either.
Fuck the patriarchy!

But, being a roadie, your leg-shaving can probably let you pass for non-binary! Woohoo, Phibes, cyclists have a back door into the oppressed Olympics!

At my age, the last thing I need to worry about is leg hair.

Or a backdoor.
