This is at the Chicago River and Michigan Avenue.
At the link there are several people disputing which ship, when, etc.
But regardless, this is an amazing photo.

Speaking of stuff like that in Chicago, there's a video of the German U-Boat, 505, being transported to it's final home at the Museum of Science and Industry.
Also, at the museum, there's a 727 (I believe) that you can go into. I suppose that must've been a thrill when air travel was not as common and much more pleasant.
They flew the thing into Meigs Field, on the lakefront. Meigs

There’s no way that boat made it that far without an army of tug boats. Kind of defeats the purpose, doesn’t it?
