The variant was first spotted in Botswana, where three cases have now been sequenced. Six more have been confirmed in South Africa, and one in Hong Kong in a traveller returning from South Africa.
Impossible. I have it on good authority that the mutations were going to be driven the 75,000,000 unvaccinated in the US, not the 4,000,000,000 others around the world.
WHO has been very much against the boosters for exactly this reason…

They expect over-reaction?
Or the virus is scary?
Or just unknown?

Government going into potential war footing.
But I have a feeling it’s going to nothingburger away, at least not as a game changer. Just a hunch. I may be wrong.

Trump was massively inconsistent on travel bans for sure. Very quickly imposed them on China. Didn't impose them on Europe until well after the airlines stopped flights. And the airlines only stopped flights after the flight crews walked out.
Maybe in the grand scheme of things, with two years hindsight, the travel bans didn't make much of a difference. But lets not give him too much credit. He was very willing to stop flights to China and had no balls to stop them to Europe. His attitude to travel bans poorly correlated to infection risk.
Yes, the Dems showed their asses early treating Asian travel bans as racist. But that doesn't mean Trump shined.

You completely miss the point in true Axian manner. No one said Trump's bans were great or effective. But Biden slammed them as racist and now imposes his own.

Nope. The early February African travel bans were unrelated to Covid. They were an extension of even earlier travel bans entirely inspired by desired immigration restrictions.

Totally pre-Covid. Or at least pre-Covid concern.

Good point. Lyin' Joe's tweet was a day after the Fox story.
But as you pointed out, I believe he and certainly others called the China ban racist, even though it was COVID-related.

Yup, they skipped it.
It's officially the "Omicron" variant.
What the hell are we going to do when we get through the entire Greek alphabet?
