All our plans are canceled. This included a beach trip to South Carolina that was at the end of April, as well as plans to visit family in Minnesota and Wisconsin this summer and in December. Flying is obviously out but so is driving...it’s 18+ hours and we wouldn’t want to stop anywhere along the way. To be clear, the preggo wife decreases our risk tolerance.
Hope your vacations work out for you @Klaus !

I think we’re going to wind up with a couple of 2-3 day trips. 2 days on the Chesapeake down close to Norfolk, a couple of days at Deep Creek, MD, and a few days at a cabin in West Virginia.

All of our plans are cancelled as well.
We had a 5 night stay planned for New Orleans beginning April 16. We also had a 11 day trip to Oregon and San Francisco at the end of July.
Nope. Not gonna happen.

Staycations FTW. Of course I rather live that way anyway.

Two international adventures dissolved. Now playing wait and see. Something on the water likely; river, lake or ocean but not a “beach” town.

We cancelled a trip to an April wedding in New Hampshire.
We still expect to rent a house on the Outer Banks of North Carolina in August. We plan to have 14-15 people in the house. We have done this for several years with this group. It looks possible at the moment, but it could get cancelled.

My mother and I were planning a trip to Japan to see the cherry blossoms in March, and there was a summer trip to Mexico as a graduation gift for my goddaughter. But, like the rest of you, that's all cancelled.

Kiddo is having surgery in a few weeks. We'll go to help her. She has no car, the hospital is two hours from her place, and she really needs family for the recovery phase.
Talked to the Mayo doc who's the regional COVID guy, and he said to drive to minimize exposure. Said not to fly. Asked about train travel, but he's not sure that would be much better than plane for exposure.

So glad I insisted on buying the air mattresses last year. We'll stay in her second bedroom, right down the hall from her bedroom. I can check on her as needed, even at night.

We don't plan vacations. We just go when we feel like we need a break. My niece is getting married in TX this fall. I guess the virus and will dictate if we attend. I am thinking not.

Traveling in sleeper from Minnesota to Oregon should be pretty safe. Everyone's required to wear a mask if they leave their room. Meals are now served in your sleeper accommodation, rather than the dining car. Your only exposure would be in the stations and boarding.
However, with only a few weeks' lead time, fares are probably pretty high.
$711 for two adults from St. Paul to Portland for two adults on June 1.
And no, I would never do coach for a trip like that.

Damn straight. Likely roll down a window, maybe two.
Actually, we hoped to take some road trips, kinda like Mark, just head out in a general direction. Utah monuments would be fantastic, maybe head north towards Glacier Nat'l Park. Who knows, like everyone else we will need to find out how open open is.
