We've really turned into a bunch of geezers here, haven't we?
How old was Riley when he jointed TOCR, 14?

I'm not sure how old he was, but I always did think that he was the youngest one on here.

04 election seems almost quaint now.

Though I took it very seriously at the time, I was a 'bundler' for Kerry, I threw a fundraising party and raised about 50k. I coordinated with the campaign and got some speakers to come to my Brooklyn flat, including Mark Green, who lost the Mayoral race to Bloomberg in 2001 and was in 2004 running for AG of NY.

Ain’t that the truth… Still, it was the start of the path that lead us here, I think…

I never could understand the appeal of Kerry. Frankly, I had pegged Bob Graham as a possible dark horse but he never even got out of the gate… Was it mostly just “not Bush?” Kycinich was a no go… There was the military guy, too. I can’t recall what happened with him.

Yeah, it was not Bush. I was indifferent about Bush/Gore in 2000 (as I was in Clinton/Dole in 96). But I thought the war in Iraq was a grave strategic error for the US, from the moment I realized it was coming. At that point I was committed to do more than just vote against him in a state that was reliably blue.
