Yeah, that podcast reinforced my opinion of Ian Prior. He’s a political opportunist. I’m sure that he will be running for state office soon.

This is dealing with a number of different assault allegations involving faculty and students over the years and the district’s responses to these allegations have been erratic with a tendency to obfuscate… One particular case involves a teacher that was accused, the student was silenced and the teacher moved to another district.
In my opinion, most of this really needs to come down on the Superintendent more than the board.

A special grand jury in Loudoun County has indicted former Loudoun County Public Schools superintendent Scott Ziegler on three misdemeanor charges, a week after issuing a scathing report detailing the school district's misdeeds in responding to a sexual assault.
The office of Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, who had impaneled the grand jury, announced Monday that a Loudoun county judge had ordered three misdemeanor indictments against Ziegler to be unsealed. The perpetrator of the assault was transferred to Broad Run High School, where he committed another assault in October 2021. Ziegler was abruptly fired after the special grand jury released a report last week that accused LCPS administrators of "fail[ing] at every juncture" when responding to the assaults.
The special grand jury was impaneled by Miyares at the behest of Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA), who had vowed to investigate the school district while campaigning ahead of the November 2021 election.

Can anybody explain his motivation for this? What bad thing would have happened to him personally if he had responded appropriately to the sexual assault? I get the broader shame avoidance for the left, but why would that motivation apply to this individual? It seems like he could have responded to the sexual assault, without politicizing it as a case in point against progressive bathroom laws. He would have made it easier for others to do that politicizing, but how would he have paid for that personally?

This goes back before that. Loudoun County was in an uproar over the Trans policies he was pushing for well before the first attack. The first attack happened like a week or two before the final vote regarding allowing Trans kids to choose their bathrooms. It was at that meeting that he pretended that the right wing argument about trans “women” assaulting girls in the bathroom was a red herring, even though this had just happened.
In all fairness the story wasn’t that cut and dried, it turns out that the gender fluid kid had an existing sexual relationship with the girl, but…
