Coming next year. 12 of them (all reserved).

Electric, with 20 minute flight time, and top speed of 63 mph.

I've wondered how long it would take to scale up drones to carry a person.

      Looks cool tho...

Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there's still time to change the road you're on.

I hope they plan some kind of re-design that will prevent the rotors from contacting a stationary object, like a building or a tree.

Cool company/product name, too. This is very much the way of the future, to some extent.

Until the body count starts to pile up due to mid-air collisions and/or bird strikes, not to mention the collateral damage on the ground.

The FAA currently requires you to get a license to fly drones. I would think this would come under their domain also. Probably have to get a pilots license to fly them. How many people would actually go to that trouble?

If you go to the Electek link, you'll see that there are a number of companies using similar concepts for arial transportation (big drones, basically).

              Some problems that I see:

              1. Battery life. 20 min is not nearly enough.
              2. Weight limits - this one is for an 85 kg male
              3. Traffic control if they become popular

In a certified airplane or even a helicopter if you lose the engine you can still fly, in some cases you can still fly for a long time.

I'm not familiar with this vehicle, but it looks like, without an engine, it would drop like a stone. With only a 20 minute flight time I would expect a number of flights to end with no engine.

My current commute is 27 road miles away and takes 45-60 minutes. As the crow flies, my commute would be 15 miles, and would take 15 minutes in this…

Probably why the flights in this video are not far off a nice sandy landing 🙂

Not much capability for $92K. You can buy a real airplane for that.
