    Rolling Stone: Daniel Craig.

Craig would be called upon to give a character who was merely the sum of his well-worn parts some emotional stakes, while still giving us the pleasures of a Bond movie. And time after time, film after film, he rose to the challenge. Without giving a lot away about the twists and turns that await folks in No Time to Die, the long, long, looooong-awaited final entry in the Daniel Craig era, it’s safe to say that this agile balancing act is still in effect. Now that we can see how his run ends, the achievement is even more impressive. Fleming’s Bond is in there, with his love of queen and country and specifically made martinis and sharp lapels and expensive watches. But by this swan song’s final fade-out, you’re seeing Craig’s Bond up there. He owns him now. With all due respect to Connery, Moore, and everyone who’s had the privilege to be licensed to kill, nobody’s done Bond — the larger-than-life archetype and the man — better.

ETA: I loved Casino Royale (the Craig Version). Though different from the book, the differences were not meaningful (Texas Hold'em vs Baccarat), and I thought it really captured the essence of Fleming's first Bond book.

I agree. Craig was by far the best Bond if you care about the original stories. His burden though was his greatest advantage - while he would be compared to the Bonds who went before, no one ever did it that way.

The other thing to consider is whether or not the franchise would have become what it is without Connery. I think not.

IMO, Moore, though likable enough was a joke. Not serious enough to be Fleming's Bond. Connery came close, and Brosnan was also close (but not as much).

        Dalton and the others? Pfft.

Remember the opening scene of Casino Royale where M asks Bond how what's-his-name died?

        "Not well..."

That scene sets the tone for Craig's Bond, and it was brilliant.

Watched “No Time to Die.” Good entertainment. Lots of gun fights that feel like video/computer games, more so than older Bond movies. Unlike the older Bond movies, there is no stupid contraption cooked up by the villain that takes way too long to kill the hero.

After they turned “M” from white woman to white man, Money Penny from white woman to black woman, this time they install a black woman as 007. Yes, it is safe to say that without spoiling the plot.

An ETF may contain only bonds but an ETF is not a bond.
