I had interior cameras that I used when the house sat empty for 15 months. I’ve since disabled them.

    Only non-witches get due process.

Last night's video of the skunk

This shot doesn't cover much territory because the stupid squirrel likes to sit on the camera and make it point down, I haven't bothered to push it back up yet

Thanks all - a bit of a mixed bag, I see. I know I can change the settings, but I also really do not want to be notified everytime there is movement outside. Maybe I'll look into a camera one day, and maybe a simple door alarm I can set via an app whenever I want it to be active. Or maybe nothing at all... I enjoy not thinking about "is the door alarm off?" whenever I go outside.

I don't get notifications, I turned them off, I check the video list maybe a few times per week

I get a 15 second video every time someone drives down the street, we don't get much traffic, I don't need a notification for this

We're seeing more break-ins and vandalism in our neighborhood as we are close to the west side of Chicago. George is in a safer town as no one from Chicago can navigate the winding streets.

My Neighbors have gone with security cameras. I'm thinking of doing the same for around the garage backyard and front door. I'm also installing more motion detector lights. I don't particularly like security system as I'm home a fair amount of time.

When growing up, we had the Jolly system - a large German Shepherd who let no life forms near our house. I remember one night where I was feeling that something wasn't quite right - let Duke out into the back yard where he found someone trying to break into the garage. We ended up with new tools that were left behind. A neighbor with two Rottweilers had a similar experience though in her case, there was torn clothing and blood left behind on her kitchen floor as the dogs apparently enjoyed playing tug-of-war with the burglar's arm. He kept most of the arm - but the dogs did get to live out their Cujo fantasies.

Lived here for 40+ years. Always said the winding streets keep the riff-raff out.

Also, did you know that streets that have a solid line down the center will get you out of town? Helps get the riff-raff out too.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

I have a nest cam in the front (doorbell) and back of the house.

I like the front one to see when packages and mail arrive. I like the back one to see what racoons and other critters in the yard are doing.

Even for just those 2 functions I was happy paying the price of entry.

Cute and all but I think with one handful of beef jerky he'd give the burglar full run of the house.

@Jolly @jon-nyc That's not our Dakota, but close...

As far as run of the house... If the burglar was female, you would probably be right, but a guy? Not a chance. We have to leash her if we have a workman in the house. She starts by tugging on their pantleg...
