"The Wisconsin Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected the extension of a stay-at-home order by Gov. Tony Evers ...
... in a 4-to-3 ruling, the court said the measure had exceeded the authority given to Wisconsin’s top health official under state law.
...The court ruling did not provide a mechanism for a stay ..."
No "stay" in the ruling means the stay-at-home order is, in effect, immediately lifted.
Good luck, @mark and his fellow Wisconsinites.

If only staying at home was an easy choice. You have to be able to save livelihoods as well as lives. Show us the way and everyone will listen.

I wonder how many deaths will have to occur before people wake up.

Admittedly I haven’t read the details of the case but my gut reaction is I’m glad they ruled this way. The stay at home order does strike my libertarian nerve as a violation and abuse of government power. Yes, even if I support the purpose and cooperate with the order.

Btw this is from someone I know in northern Wisconsin:
“Bars opened up 10 minutes after the ruling. One bar had over 30 cars in the lot when I drove by. It's going to be like the wild west soon. Especially with MN bars closed. The groups will be driving over“

People are less interested in feasible answers than they are in making comforting noises about lives overwhelming all other considerations.

There was a ongoing effort to open the state back up gradually and with a modicum of sanity.
What the supreme court just did is insane.
