I loved "The Matrix." The sequels left me cold - perhaps I should revisit them.
But this ... looks great.
"The Matrix Resurrections"

Killer trailer!
Indeed. So many trailers give away the story, or are all flash and no substance.
This one says, "You know the story, let's continue (and let's throw in some cool AF special effects to remind you why you loved the original)."
It's been so long since I watched the sequels....
Are they worth rewatching?

I did it this past year but with others as an event. It did not disappoint.
I should rewatch, then....?
Yeah, but be in the mood. Will make the third movie more enriching.

I liked the 2 matrix sequels, especially the 2nd (Reloaded), just lots of fun to watch.
And John Wick is also a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Absolute non stop amazing shooting/action scenes.
As with all movies…just make sure you’re in the mood for that type of movie!

I’ve not seen the John Wick movies. Are they any good?
Measured in Violent Deaths per Minute (not counting epic war movies), they are among the highest.
Throughout the movies they are so polite. I like that.

Nothing wrong with the two sequels, they are good, entertaining movies on their own rights. Just that the first Matrix movie is so exceptionally refreshing that it is hard for any sequel to measure up.
Most likely I will also watch the Matrix Resurrections movie, but I harbor no high hope that it will introduce any refreshing new idea that has not already been explored in the first Matrix movie.

There is actually a lot of acquired firearms skill on Keanu's part.

She's not as good...

On a vaguely related note, this is well worth watching. Shows how much prep went into making Band of Brothers.

@doctor-phibes thanks for linking that.
Very interesting.

@George-K @Doctor-Phibes @89th after watching that, I binged on a few Maj. Winters interviews. Some interesting stuff:
- Blythe from Band of Brothers, Episode 3, was actually a badass. He survived WWII. When the Korean War broke out, he volunteered. Again as a paratrooper. While there he was awarded a silver star, a bronze star, and a purple heart. Died in '67.
- Spiers did indeed do that shit.
