While Karla was visiting Lucas, she handed him a handful of change to use for laundry. Among these coins were some commemorative quarters that Lucas’ roommate is trying to convince him are worth some serious cash… Any ideas?E844E948-7EE9-495A-85E2-70024217CDAF.jpeg

I doubt they are worth more than face value at this point. I have about 75 1971 and 72proof sets my dad bought for $5 apiece at the time they were minted. They're worth about $2 now. That would be about a quarter adjusted for inflation.

I inherited some coins a couple years ago and googled for coin forums. Posted a pic on a popular one and got some good info.

That's two commerative quarters and a godless Washington dollar. They're circulated, so they're worth about $1.50

What jolly said. But generally speaking, general rule: touched by human hands = seriously depreciated value.

I have bags of old coins from grandparents. Some super cool stuff and paper money too. The best is a 5 dollar gold piece in really good condition. I priced many several years ago and compared their value to what I could have made in alternate investments…lost every time by holding. But still will keep as family heirloom.
