Based on that assumption, where's Deep Purple?
I don't think Jimi Hendrix and SRV really count as bands.

It's been "20 years since Nirvana came on the scene...", umm it has been 31 years. Good editing!
Also, Jimi Hendrix is... "a band"? Nope.
Apparently you have to be male, pale, have a depressed look, and horrible hair. And ugly. But... chicks dig the guitar!

That happened at first for me, just try again or refresh....it eventually shows the list. Weird. Also, like GK said, there is no number 24.

Off the top of my head I would add Crosby stills Nash although they had different iterations.
Also maybe dire straits.

The point isn't whether you can play or not. Not that I think The Ramones should be on the list.
If you're going to put a punk band on the list, ditch the Clash and Ramones, and put on the ultimate example, The Sex Pistols.

It's about "bands". They put on a massively great show, and have a massive string of hits, and play very tightly together. There's a reason that they are "popular" and have been for 40 years.

I must admit, I don't really like watching old codgers playing rock and roll, even if the band is really good. There's something vaguely discomfiting about it.
And yes, my use of the word 'discomfiting' marks me out as one of them.

I think it makes sense. Rock and roll is a boomer thing. Sadly, it's not really something that's continuing. Not in the mainstream, anyway.
