    Fuck & Fire Fauci.

Part of the reason for vaccine hesitancy is that political, lying asshole.

Yep, that's probably going to be the most ridiculous thing I hear all week.

I don't understand why the right seem to hate Fauci so much. There's been this 'Fire Fauci' routine going on since Trump's presidency. What's the real motivation?

          My guess:

Anti-vax conspiracy theorists create a bad look for Trumpists + Fauci sucks = let's blame Fauci for the anti-vax stuff. We get to hate the person we already hate anyway and we get our tribe off the hook.

There's also the feeling that he made Trump look stupid at the Covid briefings, which is completely untrue.

That, and also he annoyed Trump. Even without the rest, that was enough to earn him teh enmity.

Trump's message would change during the same speech. Sometimes during the same sentence. That never seemed to worry you.

...annnnnnd that's how we got Fauci. His being a lying bastard or not isn't the point. He filled a communication gap that the entire country perceived from the administration, that's why so many started listening to him.

Ironically, it's a nearly identical environment that allowed Trump to be elected in the first place (the "he tells it like it is" horseshit), but conservatives refuse to see the similarities for some reason.

Not only for a new virus.

There are dozens of examples of "the science being settled," and then, dare I say "unsettled."

Remember "eggs are bad for you" for example?

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Constantly changing information and goal posts have absolutely nothing to do with it ..

Because if it's one thing we should fully expect during a global pandemic kicked off by a new virus, it's for the science never to change!

Except Fauci didn't change his pronouncements in keeping with the science at the time. He changed his pronouncements in keeping with his tv appearance schedule.

I think Fauci's mostly a mouthpiece, and I think that's probably how he views himself, too, but I don't think he's so Machiavellian that his position in the news cycle determines what he believes. Mostly because he would never get away with being that ridiculous.

People who don’t get vaccinated die in numbers so much greater than vaccinated that all conversations are ridiculous.

It’s dreadfully boring the excuses. Move on and stop listening to the bloggers and podcasters that are in fact endangering you and your loved ones lives.

Or be a skeptic, take matters into your own hands and accept the consequences one way or another.

Oh, he is. And he gets away with it because any time someone points out how ridiculous he is, someone else says.., "But Trump....."

Fauci is only relevant in the context of Fauci v Trump. Most people could give a flying fuck about that. I think it’s good to keep bringing up Fauci to deliver red meat to the most loyal basis but honestly no one else cares, at all. They just want people to get vaccinated or stay home.
