I'm also getting tired of down your nose commentary that insinuates Trump supporters are all stupid.
Unlike your regular and frequent comments about Democrat voters, complimenting them on their intelligence and sophistication

I think the proof is pretty clear at this point that anyone still voting democrat is as dumb as a box of rocks.

When i said there was no scientific evidence to support the notion that masks work I was referring to masks on kindergarten and grade school kids. I thought that was obvious, apparently not. That said, I've been mocked and ridiculed for being a Trump supporter, called delusional, and told that "many studies exist that prove masks work", but not a single bit of evidence has been offered.
I'm also getting tired of down your nose commentary that insinuates Trump supporters are all stupid. I'm specifically referring to 89ths comments and attitude. This down your nose snobbery goes even further than 89th took it actually, to straight up state that all Trump supporters are toothless hillbillies living in the south with 3rd grade educations, dumb as bricks, and all around inferior to the "sophisticated" northerner. I honestly do believe that this is how 89th sees things.
I hate to break it to you 89th, but I'm not a toothless hillbilly with a third grade education living in a trailer. I'm as well educated as you are, I could probably drop your house into my garage, I've got more money than I know what to do with, and I didn't get here by being ignorant. So shove your "superior to you" attitude square up your ass.
A very good friend of mine is a medical doctor. He worked with my wife when she had covid. I value his opinion. This is in his area of expertise. I asked him if masks work. He said "does your underwear stop a fart?"I'm not anti mask, I'm not anti vaccine. I wore a mask up until I got my second dose of the vaccine, I'll be getting the booster shot. So don't try to portray me according to your "I am superior to you" view of things. I'm making a point here - at what point do you stop allowing political narratives to take your freedoms away?
F you chain a dog to a tree, he soon learns how far he can get from the tree and becomes satisfied with that. Remove one link a day from the chain, and the dog never notices that his freedom is being taken away. This is the important issue, not your "I'm smarter than you because I believe in masks " snobbery, and not bending to a politically correct "masks work so unless you agree to force 5 year olds to wear masks you're a Nazi bull shit.
You'd be surprised how similar we are.
We are both conservatives. We are both southerners. We both think Biden is inept. We both have large garages and money. We both aren't ignorant (actually, I am pretty ignorant on most topics...self-awareness being the one area where I'm not ignorant). We both wore masks until we got the shot. And we both are not sold on the efficacy of kids wearing masks. For example, I wouldn't have my 3 year old wear a mask when she starts preschool next month unless it's mandated - and if it is, my wife and I are still deciding if we'll send her or wait until next year to start.
All of that being said, it sucks you've extrapolated my comments beyond what I've actually said. I've never said all Trump supporters are stupid. Heck, my wife voted for Trump. Ok, bad example . I think you're a smart dude, but whether it's you or anyone else, I have no problem calling out unsupported (and quite frankly destructive) claims about Trump really winning the election, or comments about masks and/or vaccines that undercut the very solution to getting us past COVID...masks/distance and vaccines.

Masks seem to be an issue limited to the US and political philosophy? Do I have that right?
I am not weighing in on mask effectiveness but understanding the origins and extent of anti masking.
BTW here is an interesting study. Figure 3 is easiest understand at a glance, but some of the tables and conclusions provide more detail:
-
I don't like engaging in piss fights over who's got the biggest dick (for the record.....)... But while you ( the collective "you") can call me an asshole, tell me I'm stupid, whatever..... do NOT ever talk down to me. And 89th, you can dress this pig up any way you want, you were talking down .

A central Texas school system shutdown after two staff members died of COVID-19.
This may be the first of many as more K-12 public schools reopen after Labor Day.

"It was not immediately known if either teacher was vaccinated."
Umm, I can make a pretty good guess on that answer.

I wouldn't. While the deaths are overwhelmingly unvaccinated, there are some who are. I know of a few, personally. They're burying a 55 year-old down the road from me today...Saw the hearse about 30 minutes ago...
