Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. Most everything is different this year, including plans for Mother's Day.

Hubby has announced his plans for this weekend. Today is a trip to a favorite restaurant an hour from home to get curbside pickup of a delicious meal, which will be enough for Sunday dinner, too. They even have wine that's very nice, as in VERY nice, for $20 per bottle. How that happens is a mystery.

Sunday morning will be hubby making cottage cheese pancakes and some wonderful bacon. If you've never had cottage cheese pancakes, you should. They are light and fluffy with a delicious flavor, and they are a very healthy version of pancakes. Actually, you would be hard pressed to tell there was cottage cheese in it at all.

Evening dinner will be a reheat of items from the night before, including another bottle of nice wine. No cooking for Mother's Day! Wooo Hoooo!

For ambiance, we will dine in the front parlor by the bay window to watch the hummingbirds. We have two males in residence already. They chase each other and entertain us.

Hubby done good for a pandemic Mother's Day. I'm very impressed. 👍 😀

I hope all of you will have just as much enjoyment from sharing time together on this special weekend. I would enjoy hearing about your plans, too, if you care to share.

    Have a lovely weekend!

My Favorite Redhead is having a very hard time this Mothers' Day weekend because she cannot see her mother in assisted living and fears she may not be here next year. For us this is the worst part of the whole ordeal.

That's got to be very hard for your bride. A phone call isn't the same. Any chance for a Skype call?

Oh yeah, we do that almost every day. But it's not the same.

@brenda kudos to your husband and happy early Mother’s Day to you!

Tomorrow I’ll be making some cinnamon rolls and bacon, and for dinner will be Longhorn Steakhouse curbside pickup.

Can she wave and make eye contact through a window? Might be better than nothing.

I hear you. It's terribly difficult not being able to see loved ones when they're ill or vulnerable.

                I was only joking

I think Mother's Day should simply be postponed, like Tax Day has been.
Just move it three months into the future, like Tax Day has been.

Incidentally, if your birthday also falls within the pandemic's lockdown calendar range, you should also have the option to postpone it too. I know it's hard to to delay incrementing your age, but in this very difficult time you'll just have to do it for the greater good.

Now you're talkin' some good ideas, Ax. I can get behind this one. I'm willing to sacrifice several years off my age, for the greater good and all that.

The Mother’s Day dilemma is polarizing the old folks. Half are avoiding being with loved ones and the other half are saying life is not worth living this way as they realize the clock is ticking anyway.

It’s almost a war in some communities and the pro-visit crowd is noting their friends in Florida for example are living their lives.
