A buddy is up from Texas in his Tesla Y. Incredible vehicle in every way. Sleek, beautifully and smartly designed and it will give you some serious g force.

Nice! I’ve only ridden in a Tesla once. It was like riding in the equivalent of the iPod when it first came out. Compared to normal cars (aka mp3 players) it was beautiful, seamless, and felt like a leap into the future. The inside was also so radically different (and simplified) that it felt both amazing and intimidating.

Yeah I’ve been in a few now and driven a 3 and a Y. They’re very interesting though I wasn’t ready to buy one this round.

I would definitely go EV next time, if I could be assured the same reliability as my IC car has now. Everyone's jumping on the bandwagon, and (cough) Audi has some interesting (and pricey) cars in the pipeline.

          But...

          The infrastructure ain't there yet.

First of all, I need to get 220 power into the basement garage of the condo. I don't doubt that our small HOA would approve it, but it sounds like a really pricey proposition.

Secondly, for a day trip to, say, visit D2 up in Milwaukee, it would be cutting it very close on charge. It's 105 miles each way, and she only has 110V power. Neither I nor Mrs. George would abide sitting at a Supercharger for an hour while we top off the tank.

Beyond increased range, EVs have to develop a rapid-charging battery. That's in the works, I understand.

          Go hydrogen!

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
