    WW2 ended.

Took around 19 deaths per minute.

Europe celebrates May 8 as the day the war ended. We call that VE (Victory, Europe) Day. VJ Day was August 15th and was a much bigger celebration here, because then it was finally over.

When I lived in Paris in 2002 it was a public holiday, things were closed.

      Only non-witches get due process.

The UK had planned all kinds of celebrations for this - they moved the normal May Day holiday to today. Sadly, but not surprisingly pretty much everything's cancelled that would have involved any kind of social contact.

        I was only joking

            Ok... I'm done.

We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences.
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there's still time to change the road you're on.

Rather disappointing that the chart doesn't show Canadian WW2 casualties.

There are some significant differences with this:

                  https://www.nationalww2museum.org/students-teachers/student-resources/research-starters/research-starters-worldwide-deaths-world-war

I have no idea which is more accurate. They might be counting different things.
