How many 89ths does it take to change a light bulb?
-
In my new house there is a light in our hallway bathroom that is out. The problem is the way to change the light is to rotate the “frosted glass” part until it unscrews and pops off. Well, that’s not the problem….the actual problem here is the frosted glass piece is absolutely “stuck”. Our house is 16 years old…I’m guessing over time the moisture, etc has warped or expanded the glass piece. No matter how hard I try it does not budge.
Any creative solutions here other than me just breaking the glass and cleaning up the pieces?

Here are a couple of videos on unsticking overhead glass light covers. I leave it to you to view them, cuz I am once again over my data usage limit and can't be making it worse for your stupid fixture.

You could ask your lovely wife to break the glass and clean up the pieces. And then let her pick out a new fixture that she likes more.
Sorry, I know that's not helpful. But it's what my husband would do.

Worse case is you hire an electrician to replace the entire fixture.
Before that, you can try breaking the glass and replacing just the glass.
Before that, you can also try inviting your neighbor @brenda to come over to give it a good ole college try. She might even go over with a basket of baked goods so there is only upside for you.

It's just a single fixture. Probably can buy something similar looking at the Borg for $40. Cut the power off at the breaker, take a snap with your phone on how it's wired, and replace.
