    https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/justice-ruth-bader-ginsburg-hospitalized-gallbladder-condition-n1200871

“ U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Tuesday was treated for a gallstone that was causing an infection, the court said in a statement.

She underwent nonsurgical treatment for a benign gallbladder condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. The condition was detected Monday after the court's historic telephone session for oral argument. Tests confirmed that a gallstone migrated to her cystic duct, causing a blockage and infection.

Ginsburg, 87, is "resting comfortably" at the hospital and expects to remain there for a day or two the court said.

Ouch...wish her a speedy and painless recovery.

I know someone who knows RGB and all I’ll say is she’s had a number of unpublicized health scares. She’s getting up there in age...maybe holding out hope for a Democrat victory in November (one reason I’m glad Trump is in office...for the SCOTUS noms). Although I know justices aren’t supposed to make the retirement decision based on who’s POTUS.

Oh the deep philosophical discussions regarding forced retirement we’d see in the msm if this was a 90 year old white male who reflexively voted conservative on every issue.

        Education is extremely important.

From what I've read, no small number of conservatives (presumably not the compassionate variety) have been wishing this lady dead for quite some time. Apparently biased judges are only a bad thing when they don't share our own bias.

          I was only joking

Yes, rank and file discussions are unapologetic about that sort of stuff in general. I am talking about the MSM conversations affected by some attempt at being high brow.

            Education is extremely important.

I wish her well and a long life. To do otherwise for political reasons is unconscionable.

My bet? She will announce her retirement this year in an effort to galvanize the left for the election. They know she won’t last another 4 years, so it will be a political tool to get out the vote.

That would be a bad move since the GOP controls the Senate. That's the only reason it worked in 2016.

I think LD means announce her intention to retire in 2021. That would make it even more obvious to apathetic Democrats how important the election is.

I'm the wrong person to ask - bachophile would know a lot better.

But, my limited experience with this sort of thing indicates cause for concern. Add the fact that she's been undergoing chemoRx for the last 3 months...

Biliary stents are replaced every so often. They can become blocked with sludge and cause cholangitis. So to answer your question, doing an ERCP to switch a stent is not that uncommon.

In theory. The senate might have to change their rules.

He has to nominate and the senate has to approve. I think it's only Senate rules that would prevent that from happening in rapid succession. And the Senate is GOP controlled.
