      Lego set #21030, see https://brickset.com/sets/theme-Architecture/subtheme-Landmark-Series

The set by itself is not suspicious, but may be if the accused marks out surveillance points, entrance and evacuation routes on the set.

You know you're in America when they allow a handgun, a rifle and a shotgun, but they take away his Legos.

Capitol riot was incited by a number of Trump's speeches actually makes more sense.

He'd started whining about cheating before the freaking election even started.

Not disputing any of that. The guy's an idiot and, probably a danger, based on what you quoted.

But a Lego Set (unless what @Axtremus said is true)?

It’s a model of the attack plan. You can only not see it if you don’t want to. Let’s say his notebook had drawings of the Capitol. I know how funny and weird it looks but overwhelmingly it makes sense to me that it fits the narrative.

Now if you tell me he has lots of legos then I would agree. If that’s the only one it’s a no brainer.

In the same filing, feds noted that Morss had sketched out plans to form a militia in a notebook titled “Step by Step To Create Hometown Militia,” according to Business Insider. Some of the steps included “Ambush,” “Battle Drills” and “Formations.”

It wasn’t the media. The FBI affidavit says fully constructed but references “law enforcement” as stating it. So who is “law enforcement” ? Also haven’t seen “law enforcement” backtrack but I am assuming the tweeter isn’t making stuff up.

                                    In the twitter feed:

Does that count as "attempted Lego construction"? Or "conspiracy to commit Lego construction"?

Or "intent to commit conspiracy to attempt to construct with Legos"?

It’s fun but at trial we will get to see the real stuff. Let’s bookmark this page to see what the reality is.

In the same filing, feds noted that Morss had sketched out plans to form a militia in a notebook titled “Step by Step To Create Hometown Militia,” according to Business Insider. Some of the steps included “Ambush,” “Battle Drills” and “Formations.”

Shhh… don’t look here, let’s talk about the lego set.

You said that earlier, and I don't dispute any of that. The guy's a whacko, and probably a dangerous one at that.

I agree - he's probably toast. You're misunderstanding my comments.

My point is that everyone said "LOOK A THAT! He had a model of the CAPITOL BUILDING!" OMG!!!!

And, now, in paragraph 2 of this:

                                    Yeah, it's unassembled.

Is it possible that Kelly lied? Yeah.

Is it more likely that LEOs fucked up? Yeah, more possible.

So, apparently he wasn't smart enough or disciplined enough to finish the Lego set he'd bought for Christ alone knows what reason, but it probably wasn't to build with his children.

Was anybody really expecting the FBI to arrest a traveling band of rocket scientists?

                                      I was only joking

I do think you have a valid point and I note in the bin other lego sets partially or completely finished. Probably the bin was brought in by law enforcement to collect evidence.

The real risk to law enforcement credibility is if the lego being fully constructed was not a miscommunication but rather a pattern of misconstruing evidence, what and who can we believe?

On balance I do think the perp has a lot to overcome to be in fact innocent. I frankly don’t know if running the discrepancy into the ground is worth it but I do think the media should note the correction since they relied on FBI and law enforcement avvidavit(s) for their reporting.
