Why Did Facebook Censor My 9/11 Photo From 5 Years Ago?

On September 11, 2016, I posted a photo ...from the 9-11 attacks on my personal Facebook account. I headlined the photo simply “Still angry.” It was the 15th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks, and I was still angry about it. Still am.

That photo has sat there on Facebook ever since without issue, for almost five years.

Until today. I logged onto the censorious digital public square and this popped up:

Clicking on the blue button brought me to this.

    Here's the photo:

I must admit, I could live without ever seeing that photo again.

I guess it depends on what you hope to get out of Facebook.

      I was only joking

Facebook is not the only service that hosts online photos. If Facebook don’t want to show your photo, post it somewhere else.

Your opinion on this matter is rapidly becoming irrelevant.

Yes, I get that. FB is undoubtedly paving the road to hell with good intentions, or maybe just intentions. Still, I don't really go there to listen to how angry people are. I tend to block people like Bryan Preston if they appear in my feed.

Sigh. Poor Ax. He makes a perfectly obvious point -- to take your offering elsewhere if you don't like the venue -- and everybody falls on him like an avalanche.

Why? Because it's Ax, and that's what we do.

If he is still angry it’s on him. The photo is in really poor taste, I would steer clear of him but maybe it’s his right. A growing percent of the electorate wasn’t even born when the event happened.

I don't want to see pictures of Auschwitz on Facebook. I don't want to see pictures of people about to die. I don't want to see pictures of Kennedy's head exploding.

I go there to catch up with my friends and relatives. That's what it's for. Well, that and to allow Facebook to harvest all my personal data.

                                  I was only joking

Sigh. Poor Ax. He makes a perfectly obvious point -- to take your offering elsewhere if you don't like the venue -- and everybody falls on him like an avalanche.

Why? Because it's Ax, and that's what we do.

Then get your electricity from whomever you please. And if you can't, toughsky shitsky, start your own electric company.

That is the point Ax is making. I'm sure it's obvious, but it certainly is flawed...
