You know that guy that makes those paintings of GOP presidents with Jesus's hand on their shoulder or Democratic presidents with Jesus shaming them?

I would love to do one in that style showing the capitol police shooter with Jefferson's hand on one shoulder, Madison's on the other, and Jesus steadying his hand.

In the alternate reality where that guy doesn't pull the trigger, do you suppose there would have been important differences in the outcomes of the riot?

    20/20 hindsight's a wonderful thing, right?

I only meant to pose a thought experiment for anybody who thinks the police officer was doing God's work. "Heat of the moment self-defense" works just fine for me as a justification for pulling the trigger, but to say it's God's work begs some reflection on the result, doesn't it?

    Education is extremely important.

This GOP congressman who witnessed it thinks so. Go to ~1:45 in the video.

I didn't ask what a GOP congressman thinks. But duly noted.

Counterfactuals always have a degree of the unknown, but I'll take his word for it, he personally witnessed it, talked to the officer, and has no ideological interest in exaggerating what happened.

God was born with 20/20 hindsight. Which if you think about it should actually make us question quite a few of His actions.

            I was only joking

And you like his conclusion. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Who is left from the right not to hate for their emotions? Trump?

Six months after a violent mob stormed the U.S. Capitol on the day Congress certified the November election results, South Carolina’s U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham told reporters he hopes all the offenders are prosecuted.

“I was there. It was shameful, it was despicable, and the people who did it need to go to jail,” the Seneca Republican told reporters Tuesday ahead of a meeting of the Easley Rotary Club.

Sounds fine to me. It was shameful, it was despicable, and the people who did it need to go to jail. Within the law, of course.
