What a rhetorical windfall that shooting was. The Jan 6 riot will forever be referred to as deadly.

You've got secret service guys pointing their guns at a mob attempting to break into the Capitol.
And people such as Tucker Carlson are essentially saying they're to blame for what happened.

It sucks when Horace’s command of rhetoric can’t offset the video and pictures.I'm sorry my statement of fact conflicts with your emotions, but in fact the death at the Jan 6 riot was a rhetorical windfall for the left. There's actually no fact about the Jan 6 riot I or (presumably) others here haven't admitted, but because we don't emote as you emote, you see it as dishonest or dismissive.

Oh I’m emotional now. I know that trick and you ought to get slapped for it at this point. It’s worth the exercise for me to go through this to see how people react in the face of facts. I have a good Arsenal now.

I will grant you that I am relying on video and photo evidence which has not survived a court of law yet so if that’s the disagreement I concede. If there discrepancy is about what is seen in the video and photos then tell me what is wrong with them.
My assumption is that we are not talking as lawyers but rather what two dispassionate people would think after reviewing only all the video and photographic evidence.

Can you be specific about what you think I won't admit? It seems to me that you react to a lack of outrage as if it indicates a total misunderstanding of what happened. What would a person have to say about January 6, to convince you they are grounded in reality?
Do we have to think that the government was on the verge of collapse? I feel pretty confident that you wouldn't object to that (completely ridiculous) characterization, but I wonder if it's prerequisite for you to take someone seriously.

Note that most of the press is coming from the right at this point as to defending the day, not the left. I had said from the beginning lock them up and start locking up the protesters from the left as well.
So o answer your question, I did not start this and I would pounce against a congressional inquiry that is politically motivated and would use the incarceration as an example of how all rioters should be treated.I posted that another Trump impeachment was a politically motivated atrocity.
I also said security sucked and Bowser should STFU as she told the National Guard to stand down.
But at this time it is the right railing and that is what I am responding to.
Also the photo I shared came from the NYPost, it smells of desperation or true idiocy to share a photo that makes it look like there was a fight for life going on. I simply used material from a right leaning media organization.

Okay I can live with that. I don’t think our democracy was on the brink of collapse, I do think that what happened was not only political suicide but many well meaning people’s lives may have been ruined by really bad rhetoric. I also think that January 6 deniers actually know they are only reaching their tribe. I am of the most likely to be influenced and it’s far from working.

I don't even know what Jan 6 denial means. My ears to the ground, to the extent they can be, hear Jan 6 being used on sites like NextDoor (neighborhood facebook) to shame anybody expressing an opinion that smells conservative. Jan 6 was massive catharsis for TDS sufferers, and it dealt a terrible rhetorical blow to any national political discussion designed to move centrists to the right.

You know that guy that makes those paintings of GOP presidents with Jesus's hand on their shoulder or Democratic presidents with Jesus shaming them?
I would love to do one in that style showing the capitol police shooter with Jefferson's hand on one shoulder, Madison's on the other, and Jesus steadying his hand.

I only meant to pose a thought experiment for anybody who thinks the police officer was doing God's work. "Heat of the moment self-defense" works just fine for me as a justification for pulling the trigger, but to say it's God's work begs some reflection on the result, doesn't it?
