99.2% of recent Covid deaths are unvaccinated people

The difference between the possible 1000 deaths a day in the US in 2022 and near zero if everyone got the vaccine is something I’m sure some people will talk around, just like this thread.
If we climb back to a thousand a day should we let of all them know what awesome freedom fighters they were and their deaths were not in vain?
Might want to find a better source than Newsweak....

Better yet we will look at the statistics a year from now. I’m done but will circle back and see what happened.
Looking forward to that.

Whenever someone tells me how healthy they are - or youthful and thus, clearly invincible from Covid, I think of my friend.
@jolly said:
But that's because the disease is predictable, but not predictable.
Carlson had some guy on his show last week who decided to not vax. "If I get it, it'll be the flu, and my family will be fine.
Idiot.
Tell that to D2.
There will be outliers...And in my limited observations, mostly genetic.
Saw a report that 25% of COVID-19 patients develop persistent symtptoms. 25% is not an outlier - it's just a bit more than one standard deviation from the mean.
-
To be honest, I do believe my opinion will remain the same.
Got a call this morning. An elderly friend of mine died. I saw her a couple of days ago in the hospital...She was a CHF patient and lived years longer than she had any right to. She curtailed a few things for COVID, but not much. Life was to be lived.
She fell at a nearby Burger KIng a couple of weeks ago. Broke her patella and her femur in two places. She died with Terminal Delirium...If you don't know what that is, look it up, because you might would rather die with COVID.
Ain't no telling how long she might have lived, if she had just taken the COVID vaccine...
I'm not going to tell other people how to live their lives...Not in the matter of personal decisions. Not in the matter of a vaccine that cannot protect you from catching the disease. That's their choice.
Me? I'll take care of me.

I got the vaccine as early as possible. I think many/most anti-vax people are being foolish (the Bill Gates chip people, government mind control, etc.); however, I do know some intelligent people who have chosen not to vax - not for any particular reason other than the "what we don't know, that we don't know" - which I can understand.
One of the people I know that has so far refused to be vaccinated has a PhD from Northwestern. I don't consider her to be unintelligent.
Normally, you describe people with advanced degrees who do stupid shit as 'educated beyond their intelligence'.
Personally, I know plenty of people with doctorates who are fucking nutters. Sometimes I think it's a prerequisite.

God forbid the delta variant and whatever the next possible mutation might do. Worrying signs are abound.
Check out cases and deaths trends in South Africa, all Delta variant inspired. Israel now says Pfizer is merely 70% protective from Delta infection and even serious effects have increased.
Tons of hubris here, something we will have to reflect on in the future.

Is anybody on this board opposed to getting vaccinations, or opposed to others getting vaccinations? I don't think so.
Loki you are tilting away at people who only respect the choices of others, and who value the principle that they should be able to make their own choice.
I'm sure we all would prefer that more people get the vaccine.

I agree with your first sentence. I believe in this case respecting the choices of others is actually deadly and harmful to the nation’s best interests. I would like those who make the choice to not vaccinate to truly understand their impact on others. I am not trying to prevent suicide.

Other than emoting one's disgust for those who don't get vaccinated, what form should this disrespect take, in your opinion?

Is that the requirement for posting now - somebody has to agree with somebody doing something stupid before we discuss it?

Loki was talking like he was having difficulty relating with other posters in this thread, on this topic. And that he would come back to this thread for a victory dance, if there are lots of COVID deaths in a year.

Vaccines: everyone thinks differently and are free to conclude differently from you, or myself. They pose no threat to me, so live and let live.
Liberals: fucking libtard motherfuckers are a disease on modern society!

Combating the mistruths about the vaccines, educating people on the harm of a slow path to herd immunity, and pointing out when someone talks of a cardiac case or death of a vaccinated person that overwhelmingly more good than harm has come from the vaccine and the person making the point of the exceptional case may have an ulterior motive or talking out of lack of education.
Perhaps a discussion on freedom for the individual is wrapped in the common good.
We have now administered over 3 billion doses of vaccines around the world. This is not some study of 52 people that appears on social media every day about the wonders of….let’s say radishes.

Elections matter, unequivocally. I think we can all agree on that, both sides.
Some of us don't really believe that whether we get vaccinated matters to anybody else. At least, not enough to dictate the decision.

Sounds good, more power to you. Just don't expect all that to change many minds.

I think we all agree there's a lot of bloody morons out there. The only disagreement is which specific group they're made up from.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/07/04/republicans-vaccines/
GOP governors implored their residents on Sunday to get vaccinated against the coronavirus, as polling shows that vaccine hesitancy has been driven by Republicans and as the virus’s new, more contagious delta variant has caused recent upticks in covid-19 cases in areas with low vaccination rates.

And again, while the Delta cases have been increasing dramatically for months, the hospitalizations and CFR rate has been dropping. The CFR on the Delta variant is at or below the common flu. As has been pointed out many times, this is typical behavior for these types of viruses.

From your lips to god’s ears. I sincerely hope you are right and pray people aren’t making vaccination decisions based on what you typed. I think you might be a little behind on the latest info too.
